Drive
The VRF Youth Ambassadors’ 10th annual blanket drive for the homeless brought in
over 100 new blankets to the homeless and shelters housing children and families.
The idea for the blanket drive originated with Youth Ambassador President, Rachel Wims,
when she was in the 6th grade at Kingsview Middle School in Germantown, MD. This
year, Youth Ambassadors Leiah Bailey, Nick and Robert Caverly, Dexter Merritt, Sasha
Miller, Sydney Salgado, and Isaiah Washington helped with the drive.
Over the past 10 years, more than 2,000 blankets have been given to the area’s homeless by the Youth Ambassadors.
